Quantities and times are a starting point: adjust them to your taste. Two things don't change: poultry and ground meat must be cooked all the way through, and allergens — always check the labels.

Salmon with vegetables in the Varoma

Salmon, broccoli, carrots and potatoes, all steamed at the same time.

Rico's note: The Varoma cooks the salmon and the vegetables at the same time, without dirtying a pot or a skillet.

Ingredients

  • 2 salmon steaks (320 g / 11½ oz)
  • 200 g (7 oz) broccoli florets
  • 200 g (7 oz) carrot sticks
  • 150 g (5½ oz) new potato, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (10 g)
  • 1 lemon (60 g / 2 oz) — sliced into rounds, plus juice
  • dill or parsley, salt and pepper, to taste

Method

  1. In a pot fitted with a steamer basket, bring water to a boil with the lemon slices.
  2. Put the potato in the bottom of the basket, cover and let it cook for 5 minutes.
