Quantities and times are a starting point: adjust them to your taste. Two things don't change: poultry and ground meat must be cooked all the way through, and allergens — always check the labels.

Oatmeal with apple and cinnamon

Creamy oats cooked in almond milk, with apple and a touch of cinnamon.

Rico's note: Keep a bowl of this ready when you know you have rushed mornings ahead — it reheats in two minutes and you're done.

Ingredients

  • 60 g (2 oz) rolled oats
  • 250 ml (1 cup) unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 small apple, diced (120 g / 4 oz)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (2 g)
  • 1 tbsp honey (20 g / ¾ oz)
  • 8 g sliced almonds — to decorate

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the oats and almond milk and set over medium heat.
  2. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring often so it doesn't stick to the bottom.
