Values are for the first option listed in the ingredients; substitutions and variations change them. Carbs exclude fiber; energy uses the EU conversion factors (fiber at 2 kcal/g). Quantities and times are a starting point: adjust them to your taste. Two things don't change: poultry and ground meat must be cooked all the way through, and allergens — always check the labels.

Green celery and apple smoothie

Raw vegetables, green apple, lemon and ginger.

Rico's note: Perfect after a weekend of eating everything you shouldn't — it won't fix anything, but it tastes good and feels light.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh spinach (30 g / 1 oz)
  • ½ cucumber (150 g / 5½ oz)
  • 2 stalks celery (80 g / 2¾ oz)
  • 1 green apple (180 g / 6½ oz)
  • 1 lemon, juice only (30 g / 1 oz)
  • 1 small piece fresh ginger (5 g)
  • 200 ml (¾ cup) water

Method

  1. Wash all the vegetables and the apple well.
  2. Cut everything into smaller pieces so it blends more easily.
