Quantities and times are a starting point: adjust them to your taste. Two things don't change: poultry and ground meat must be cooked all the way through, and allergens — always check the labels.

Aloe vera shot

Fresh gel from the leaf, with no bitterness and a citrus touch.

Rico's note: An aloe vera plant in the kitchen is all you need: cut a leaf, use what you need and save the rest for the following week.

Ingredients

  • 1 piece aloe vera leaf, gel only (30 g / 1 oz)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (15 g / ½ oz)
  • 1 tsp cold water (5 g)

Method

  1. Cut the aloe vera leaf in half and scoop out only the clear gel with a spoon, avoiding the skin and the yellow layer just beneath it.
  2. Rinse the gel well under running water.

The full method (4 steps), Rico's tip, the variations and storage are in the ebook “Snacks & Sweets”. The English edition is coming soon.
