Values are for the first option listed in the ingredients; substitutions and variations change them. Carbs exclude fiber; energy uses the EU conversion factors (fiber at 2 kcal/g). Source for sugars and saturated fat: Portuguese Food Composition Database (Base de Dados da Composição de Alimentos), Instituto Nacional de Saúde Doutor Ricardo Jorge, I. P. — INSA, v 7.1 - 2026.

Quantities and times are a starting point: adjust them to your taste. Two things don't change: poultry and ground meat must be cooked all the way through, and allergens — always check the labels.

Vegan matcha

Deep green and earthy, with a gentle lift and no coffee.

Rico's note: Even people who aren't into matcha tend to come round to this one — good after an afternoon workout, no coffee needed.

Ingredients

  • 300 ml (1¼ cups) unsweetened oat milk
  • 25 g (1 oz) vanilla plant-based protein powder
  • 6 g matcha powder
  • 30 g (1 oz) pitted dates
  • 40 g (1½ oz) ripe avocado

Method

  1. Soak the dates in warm water for 10 minutes, then drain well.
  2. Dissolve the matcha in a tablespoon of warm oat milk before adding it to the rest, so it doesn't clump.

The full method (7 steps), Rico's tip, the variations and storage are in the ebook “Ninja Creami”. The English edition is coming soon.
