Values are for the first option listed in the ingredients; substitutions and variations change them. Carbs exclude fiber; energy uses the EU conversion factors (fiber at 2 kcal/g). Source for sugars and saturated fat: Portuguese Food Composition Database (Base de Dados da Composição de Alimentos), Instituto Nacional de Saúde Doutor Ricardo Jorge, I. P. — INSA, v 7.1 - 2026.

Quantities and times are a starting point: adjust them to your taste. Two things don't change: poultry and ground meat must be cooked all the way through, and allergens — always check the labels.

Chocolate avocado ice cream

Creamy and chocolatey — and the kids won't know there's avocado in it.

Rico's note: Avocado in chocolate ice cream wins over kids who'd never try avocado on its own.

Ingredients

  • 1 very ripe avocado (150 g / 5½ oz)
  • 1 banana (150 g / 5½ oz)
  • 150 ml (½ cup) reduced-fat milk
  • 15 g (½ oz) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • milk, as needed — only if you need it for the RE-SPIN

Method

  1. Make sure the avocado is very ripe (soft to the touch) so it doesn't leave a bitter taste.
  2. Put the avocado, banana, milk and cocoa in the blender and blend until completely smooth, with no visible green bits.
