Values are for the first option listed in the ingredients; substitutions and variations change them. Carbs exclude fiber; energy uses the EU conversion factors (fiber at 2 kcal/g). Source for sugars and saturated fat: Portuguese Food Composition Database (Base de Dados da Composição de Alimentos), Instituto Nacional de Saúde Doutor Ricardo Jorge, I. P. — INSA, v 7.1 - 2026.

Quantities and times are a starting point: adjust them to your taste. Two things don't change: poultry and ground meat must be cooked all the way through, and allergens — always check the labels.

Avocado, cocoa and almond milk smoothie

Creamy as ice cream, with no cream and no dairy.

Rico's note: Keep half a ripe avocado in the fridge for this smoothie — it's the answer when you want something sweet at night.

Ingredients

  • ½ small avocado (80 g / 2¾ oz)
  • 1 dessert spoon (10 ml) unsweetened cocoa powder (10 g)
  • 250 ml (1 cup) unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 large date, pitted (15 g / ½ oz)

Method

  1. Cut the avocado in half and scoop out the flesh with a spoon.
  2. Pit the date.
