Apple, cinnamon and ginger juice

Apple, ginger and a touch of cayenne to ease into the day.

Rico's note: Good for Monday mornings when the weekend was heavier than it should have been — the ginger and cayenne give it a kick that wakes up your taste buds.

Ingredients

  • 2 red apples (360 g / 12½ oz) — skin on, washed
  • 1 tsp ground Ceylon cinnamon (2 g)
  • 1 piece fresh ginger (15 g / ½ oz) — thumb-sized
  • ½ lemon, juice only (15 g / ½ oz)
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper (0.3 g) — optional

Method

  1. Wash the apples well and cut them into quarters, skin on.
  2. Peel the ginger and cut off a thumb-sized piece.
