Values are for the first option listed in the ingredients; substitutions and variations change them. Carbs exclude fiber; energy uses the EU conversion factors (fiber at 2 kcal/g). Quantities and times are a starting point: adjust them to your taste. Two things don't change: poultry and ground meat must be cooked all the way through, and allergens — always check the labels.

High-fiber apple, chia and cinnamon smoothie

Whole chia seeds, so the smoothie has a little something to chew.

Rico's note: Let this smoothie sit for a few minutes while you tidy the kitchen — the chia swells and the texture changes completely.

Ingredients

  • 1 large apple (180 g / 6½ oz)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds (15 g / ½ oz)
  • 100 g (3½ oz) low-fat Greek yogurt
  • ground cinnamon, to taste
  • 50 ml (3½ tbsp) cold water or ice

Method

  1. Cut the apple into pieces, skin on.
  2. Put the apple, yogurt, water and cinnamon in the blender and blend until smooth.
