Berry and beet smoothie bowl with seeds

Wine-red and fruity-sweet, with an earthy beet finish.

Rico's note: Beet scares a lot of people in a fruit bowl, but you barely notice it — just color and a hint of earthiness at the end.

Ingredients

  • 150 g (5½ oz) frozen berries
  • 50 g (1¾ oz) cooked beets (vacuum-packed, precooked)
  • 100 g (3½ oz) frozen banana, sliced
  • 60 ml (¼ cup) unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds, to decorate (10 g)
  • 10 g shredded coconut (for garnish)

Method

  1. Put the frozen berries, beets, frozen banana and almond milk in the blender.
  2. Blend until completely smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides.
