Values are for the first option listed in the ingredients; substitutions and variations change them. Carbs exclude fiber; energy uses the EU conversion factors (fiber at 2 kcal/g). Quantities and times are a starting point: adjust them to your taste. Two things don't change: poultry and ground meat must be cooked all the way through, and allergens — always check the labels.

Almond and dark chocolate stuffed dates

Warm dates with almond butter and chocolate melting inside.

Rico's note: For when you're craving chocolate mid-afternoon and don't want to overdo it. Warm them just enough for the chocolate to soften; it doesn't need to melt completely.

Ingredients

  • 4 large Medjool dates, pitted (80 g / 2¾ oz)
  • 30 g (1 oz) natural almond butter
  • 4 pieces 70% dark chocolate (20 g / ¾ oz)
  • 1 pinch fleur de sel (1 g) — optional

Method

  1. With a small knife, make a lengthwise slit in each date and remove the pit, if it still has one.
  2. Gently open each date and fill it with half a tablespoon of almond butter.
