Pão de queijo waffles (Brazilian cheese bread)

Pão de queijo made in a waffle iron or a skillet, in 10 minutes.

Rico's note: It really tastes like pão de queijo, but it's ready in the time it takes to make coffee — the waffle iron is just there for that extra crunch.

Ingredients

  • 1 egg (50 g / 1¾ oz)
  • ½ cup tapioca starch, sweet or sour polvilho (60 g / 2 oz)
  • ¼ cup plain yogurt, or coconut milk (61.3 g / 2¼ oz)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (13.5 g)
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast, cheesy flavor (10 g)
  • 1 pinch salt (1 g)
  • ½ tsp baking powder (2 g)

Method

  1. Preheat the waffle iron or a small skillet.
  2. Beat the egg with a fork in a bowl.
