Of which 8.8 g sugars and 1.1 g saturated fat.

Values are for the first option listed in the ingredients; substitutions and variations change them. Carbs exclude fiber; energy uses the EU conversion factors (fiber at 2 kcal/g). Source for sugars and saturated fat: Portuguese Food Composition Database (Base de Dados da Composição de Alimentos), Instituto Nacional de Saúde Doutor Ricardo Jorge, I. P. — INSA, v 7.1 - 2026.

Quantities and times are a starting point: adjust them to your taste. Two things don't change: poultry and ground meat must be cooked all the way through, and allergens — always check the labels.

Homemade granola bars

An on-the-go energy snack, made in the air fryer.

Rico's note: Make a tray of these so you always have something on hand before a workout, instead of reaching for store-bought bars loaded with sugar.

Ingredients

  • 150 g (5½ oz) rolled oats
  • 50 g (1¾ oz) mixed dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, chopped apricot)
  • 30 g (1 oz) mixed seeds (chia, flax, pumpkin)
  • 30 g (1 oz) chopped almonds or walnuts
  • 4 tbsp honey or maple syrup (60 g / 2 oz)
  • 3 tbsp natural peanut butter (45 g / 1½ oz)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (5 g)
  • 1 pinch fleur de sel (1 g)

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, dried fruit, seeds and chopped almonds or walnuts.
  2. In a small saucepan over low heat, warm the honey, peanut butter and vanilla until runny and well combined, without letting it boil.
