Values are for the first option listed in the ingredients; substitutions and variations change them. Carbs exclude fiber; energy uses the EU conversion factors (fiber at 2 kcal/g). Quantities and times are a starting point: adjust them to your taste. Two things don't change: poultry and ground meat must be cooked all the way through, and allergens — always check the labels.

Crispy carrot fries

The lighter alternative to classic fries.

Rico's note: The carrots get crispier than you'd expect — and they taste better than regular fries.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium carrots (200 g / 7 oz)
  • 5 g olive oil spray
  • salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder and oregano, to taste

Method

  1. Wash and peel the carrots, and cut them into thin sticks, like fries.
  2. Put the sticks in a bowl, spray with olive oil and season, tossing well so they're all coated.

The full method (4 steps), Rico's tip, the variations and storage are in the ebook “Snacks & Small Plates”. The English edition is coming soon.
