Broa slice with requeijão and tomato

The classic Portuguese morning bite, ready in three minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 slice Portuguese cornbread, broa (50 g / 1¾ oz)
  • 2 tbsp creamy requeijão, or cream cheese (40 g / 1½ oz)
  • 4 tomato slices (40 g / 1½ oz)
  • dried oregano, to taste
  • 1 tsp olive oil (5 g) — optional
  • black pepper, to taste — optional

Method

  1. Toast the slice of broa if you like it crisper.
  2. Spread a generous layer of requeijão over the broa.
